I Got A Baby Bed!!

My parents bought me a baby bed. It is a white Jenny Lind Angel Line baby bed. They were going to get me a bed that converted and grows with the baby. However, come to find out that the beds that grow with your child do not have sides that lower and raise, and also has one slot for the height of the mattress.

I am glad that they made the choice they did when purchasing my baby bed. I like the idea of being able to raise and lower the sides, and have the mattress in the highest position while the baby is little. It will save my back!!

Ed got the baby bed put together for me, and it sure makes my little nursery look tiny! lol

I will post pics of the nursery progress and baby bed soon!

Ed took me maternity clothes shopping tonight at Sears. I got a pair of denim capris, khaki capris, 4 T- Shirts and a black and white polka dot (kinda dressy) shirt. Sears was having an awesome sale, and I was able to get all of that for $85.00!!

3 Months Pregnant Today!

So, I am 3 months / 12 weeks today! I also had a Doctor's appointment today.

My Dr. visit was all fine. The Dr. was not able to locate the heartbeat with the little machine that he uses so I got another ultrasound. This time Ed was with me and was able to see.

The baby has grown sooo much since my last appointment/ ultrasound. We were able to see one of his or her arms and a hand because he or she had it raised! It was really cool.

My doctor said the baby is about 4 to 5 inches long right now.

So, it was a good day and a great Dr.'s appointment!

Now, to answer the Anonymous person that left me a comment asking me if I get any exercise.....

Yes!! I do manage to get exercise between naps believe it or not!!! I have a home, husband, and a teenager to take care of. It's not like I spend ALL of my time in the bed napping. Some pregnant women need more rest at times than others. We are all different. However, thanks for showing your concern. =] I am sure I will manage to deliver my baby just fine..... Ohhh and just to clarify: I said I THINK I could take 3 naps a day. I did not say that I actually do take 3 naps a day.....Most days I don't even get one!

Only 199 Days To Go!!

So that is what my pregnancy ticker says anyways. lol 199 days really isn't that long. If you think about it, I have all ready been pregnant about 90 days... and it seems like it has flown by.

I asked Ed this morning if he thinks we will be ready for this baby by the time he or she gets here. He seems to think we will be.... I on the other hand am having doubts! lol

So, I asked my daddy to make the baby a chest of drawers. He said he will and actually is going to get started on it in the next few weeks!! My parents are also buying me a brand new baby bed.

I am seriously thinking about going with white furniture in the baby's room.... There are all ready 2 bookshelves that are staying in the baby's room that are solid white. If the baby bed they get me is white, I will leave the bookshelves white, and ask daddy to paint the chest white.

I have decided against a changing table. I did not use or have one with my other 2 babys and I just can't justify it.....

Oh something else I am thinking about is making my baby's bedding. I have looked online, and while I have found some really cute bedding sets for a baby bed, I think I would rather make my own. I can just by solid baby bed sheets to match as that is not something that I care to attempt to make. (Elastic and I do not get along!!)

That way I can also make matching curtains for the room to tie it all together. I am itching for a sewing project anyway....

I am feeling much better the last couple of days. I still get an overwhelming "I am gonna barf" feeling every once in a while.... and I think I could take 3 naps a day and still have no problem sleeping all night long as well.

TGIF!

I Feel BLAH!!!

So, I am in my 11th week of pregnancy and I really feel like CRAP!!

I am sooo tired, I feel soooo fat, and I just wanna lay around and do NOTHING.

All my comfy lounge pants are tight on my belly and I feel like I have a huge stomach ache.

I have felt actually kicking from the baby a few times in the last few days. When I feel the baby moving I smile. Other than that I am a big grouch.......

It's getting hot outside and that makes me even more miserable... I don't know why. It's not like I have to be outside in the heat sweating or anything. I guess its just the thought of the heat and the fact that I all ready feel huge and lazy... ugh

I can't wait till my pool is ready to get in it! The water is beginning to look good, it just needs to get warmer!!

I am also a big cry baby lately. The tears will flow at the drop of a hat and I don't know why.

On a happy note, I had a dream last night that my baby was a fat little boy. And he was bald. lol
He was sooo cute!!

Anyway, this is my "Whiney, I am miserable" post. Leave me nice comments or I will cry. (CLARA!!) lol

10 Weeks Pregnant and Baby's Heartbeat!

Today I am 10 weeks pregnant!

Last night we heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. We had bought this:

http://www.bebesounds.com/products_prenatalheartlistener_description.asp

So that Ed could hear the baby's heartbeat. The reason we bought it is because he works out of town a lot and we were figuring he would not get to go to a Dr. appt. with me. We did not want him to miss out!

So, we had been playing around with it and trying to listen to the baby for a few weeks now. Last night we finally heard it!! The baby was on the right side of my stomach and the heartbeat was soooo fast!! It was really neat.

When I was at my first prenatal appt. this month, the Dr. did not even try to hear the baby's heart. So, this was also the first time I have heard it as well.

Here is an update on me:
  • I am feeling the baby wiggle at least once almost every day now.
  • I am still kinda pukey feeling more in the evenings than the mornings.
  • My boobs are still killing me and I hate to say that they are definitely bigger.
  • So is my tummy. But it looks like I just need to push away from the table.. I don't look preggo. lol
  • I am peeing a ton. I get tired of having to pee every time I turn around.
  • I am emotional and will cry at the drop of a hat. So, don't hurt my feelings! lol
  • I have to eat breakfast. ( I never did before) If I do not eat in the mornings within 2 hours of getting up, I start shaking and feeling bad.
  • I take 4 and 5 hour naps every day and still have no problem sleeping at night.
I am definitely feeling pregnant, and I am remembering that it's really not a lot of fun!! =]

I also have 2 more girl names to add to my list of possible names:
  • Mya (pronounced My-a just like it looks)
  • Lanna

Ed was off this weekend and home, so he got the room pretty much cleared out so that I can start getting it ready for baby. We are going to Wal Mart, Target, and Toys R Us today to look at baby stuff!

Oh and he also got me a new pool and got it up this weekend too!! =]

I Felt The Baby Move!!!

Yesterday I felt the baby move twice!

While I was not all the way convinced that it was the baby I was feeling, I jump online and look it up. Much to my surprise if you have been pregnant before, it is very much so possible to feel the baby move this early!!

I also called my step daughter Beverly, who has 5 kids and asked her if she thinks it is possible to feel it moving this early. Let's face it, if you have been pregnant 5 times, you should know, right? She said yes.

What I felt was slight fluttery movements and they were low, right above my pelvic bone. The first time I felt it, it was a little harder than the second time. Almost like a twist and a flutter. The second time if I had not been sitting and relaxed I am sure I would have missed it!! It was just slight flutters. If I had not known I was pregnant, I would have thought I had swallowed a butterfly!

So, that is exciting!! I am right over 9 weeks along and feeling the wiggle worm inside!

Maternity Clothes Shopping Was Not Fun After All!

Well, Friday I went to Old Navy in Jackson Mississippi to shop for maternity clothes. I went into the store, chose about 20 things to try on, and headed to the dressing room.

Now, when I got to Old Navy, it was cloudy outside, but the sun was still shinning through. I knew they were having bad weather at home. It just did not hit me we were going to have it there as well.

While I am in the fitting room, I hear this loud commotion outside in the store. People were yelling "Go to the fitting room!!", "Hurry up get in the fitting room!!". So, Me being the only one in the fitting room is wondering what on earth is going on.

I grab my phone and my purse, and I come out of the fitting room to be met with all of the customers and employees of the store. I asked what was going on. They said a tornado was at North Park Mall. They said no one can leave, we have to stay in the fitting room away from the glass. (The whole front of the store is nothing but glass.)

I was like OH CRAP!

Well, I called Lisa and told her. She had warned me earlier of tornado warnings in Jackson and Ridgeland. But, I had told her I was fine and that the weather was OK where I was.

So, we are all sitting in the back of the store in the fitting rooms, and they have a radio on the weather. The lights flash off. Then they come back on. Then the lights flash again. This time they stayed off. We also lost our radio. The employees of Old Navy were talking about how the glass at the front of the store was rattling and shaking before they came to the fitting rooms.

I asked someone where North Park Mall was, they said right beside us. I was really scared. Next we heard what sounded like a train right on top of us! I thought I was going to die!! I thought the building was fixing to come down on top of me!! About 1 minute later, the noise was gone, and we were all relieved!

We still were not allowed to leave the store or even the fitting rooms. I looked down and noticed I still had on Old Navy's clothes that I was in the middle of trying on!! LOL

Once we could go out of the fitting room and were allowed to leave the store, the electricity was still off. We went outside to find that there was a lady that was trying to go inside of Circuit City next door as the storm was over us and the wind pushed her down and she lost her phone and keys. After the storm, her phone and keys were no where to be found.

The Old Navy sign was crashing down all over the front of the store. Glass shattering everywhere. To leave the store was even a hazard! The roof of the store was messed up. We seriously believe the tornado was right on top us but just did not come down!! There was way too much damage for it to have been only winds! Also, cars in the parking lot were damaged. The manager of Old Navy, her vehicle had a huge hole in the back window!!

I have never actually been in a full blown tornado nor do I ever want to be. I am scared to death of bad weather anyways, and this experience totally shook me up. Ed had to come and get me. I could not even drive back to Magee.

But, I did manage to get 2 pairs of maternity Capri's and a cute maternity top. Oh and by the way, I needed the XL size not the XXL!! YAY!!

I was glad when they told me they were able to write me a ticket and manually ring my items up! This is what I got:

These are white Capri's that I got. They are super thin and I will be glad that I have them when it gets hot. They are also cute. They have no button or zipper, just this HUGE elastic band at the top. They tie in the front.

I also got these denim Capri's. They have a real waist with a button, zipper and elastic panels on the sides!! I really liked these Capri's when I tried them on. I was wishing the store had lights when I was checking out so that I could go and see if they had this style in another color.

This is known as my tornado shirt! LOL This is what I was wearing when the tornado went over the store. I know it is not exactly a SPRING or SUMMER shirt. But, I will be pregnant all the way up to November of this year. Besides, it was on clearance for 10$!! I could not pass it up!

Tonight, Ed and I went to Wal Mart. We purchased a baby name book, a pregnancy journal book, and a baby monitor!

We are thinking and talking about names!! These are some possibilities:

Girls First Names:
  • Madeline
  • Madison
  • Laci

Girls Middle Names:

  • Raine

Boys Names:

  • Jesse
  • Jordan

Tomorrow I will be 9 weeks pregnant!!

Just Thinking.....

Today I am 8 Weeks and 4 Days Pregnant! Does not sound very far along!!

So, I have been thinking and analyzing (yeah I am a dork!). I have come to the conclusion that I got pregnant on Valentines Weekend!! How sweet is that?!? lol

Something else I pointed out to Ed this morning. Before I knew I was pregnant, I had been having these weird cravings for juice. Any kind of juice. Apple, grape, orange... like my body knew I was pregnant, and needed the extra vitamins, but I did not know....

I have still been wanting and drinking juice too. I drink a ton of it! I am also taking prenatal vitamins and could really tell that my fingernails were growing and strong. But then I went and got solar nails, so... lol yeah.

I have got to get me some more stretchy pants!! Lisa mentioned that I should just buy a bigger size. But, I refuse!! I just lost 60 pounds in the last year. The only thing getting bigger on me at the moment is my tummy and my boobs (ugh!). I refuse to buy a size larger than I need... I need to find an Old Navy that sells Maternity clothes in the store so I can go and try them on. I am wearing an 18 jeans, so I should be able to wear Old Navy's XL and 2XL maternity pants.

If anyone knows of somewhere that sells plus size maternity clothes that are cute and not old ladyish, please let me know!!! I am a hip hot preggo mama... not an old lady! lol

I am seriously considering ditching work today and going to Jackson, Ridgeland and Vicksburg to shop the day away! Oh did I mention I am in Mississippi till Monday? =]

My First Prenatal Appointment and Ultrasound!

I went in today (well actually yesterday) for my first prenatal appointment. I had no idea I was going to have an ultrasound, so you can imagine how excited I was when my Doctor told me!

This is my ultrasound picture close up with the baby circled:

This is the whole picture:

So, the doctor measured the baby during the ultrasound and told me that the baby is 1.3 cm. The size of a Lima bean. Soooo tiny!

He also said that the baby's measurements are putting me at being 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant right now. With a due date of November 15Th. However, he also said that just 5 days is not a big deal and we are going to keep my due date of November 10Th and say I am 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant. He said that you really have 2 weeks on each side of your due date that its OK to have your baby in. Which is good, cause my pregnancies are known to go over and past my due dates....

It was still too early of course to hear the heart beat or tell what sex the baby is. But just seeing the baby on the screen was amazing. Every time the heart would beat, the baby would move and it was like he (or she ) was all over the place. It was really cool.

Lisa was able to see the ultrasound too. That was a first time experience for her. She recorded a video with her cell phone, and is the proud big sissy!

My next prenatal appointment is 4/28/08.
